The Sunflower History

The Sunflower was first converted for use as a restaurant in the late 1970s. It served for many years as a superb place to meet friends and enjoy wonderful bistro style food and it was embraced with open arms by a very grateful clientele. The Sunflower continued to trade as a restaurant but never quite reached the popularity it achieved in the late 70s and throughout the 80s. The Sunflower Restaurant is now an altogether new proposition. The new owners Val and Andrew Brunton are passionate about food, quality and service.  This is borne out by the fact that at peak times reservations are the order of the day and in its first couple of years under new management the restaurant has achieved a four star Taste of Scotland listing and a couple of excellent restaurant reviews in national newspapers. The Sunflower's next goal is to achieve an AA rosette for its exciting new dinner menu.

A new menu with a continental feel has been introduced for lunch which is available Monday through to Saturday. The new wine list exciting, sensibly priced and has something for everyone.

Dinner is served on Thursday, Friday & Saturday. In the evening the restaurant is transformed from the bright and breezy atmosphere of the day, to a more relaxing intimate setting where the pace is more leisurely and the food, service and presentation is nothing short of superb.
